Santander has appointed Robin Foale as managing director for Business Banking following recent changes to its Corporate, Commercial and Business Banking division.

In his new role, Foale will report directly to Steve Pateman who was appointed to the Board of Directors adn an executive director in Match.

As part of his new remit, Foale will be reviewing the products and services offered to small businesses within Santander's branch and telephone network.

Foale has worked at Santander for three years, most recently as the divisional managing director for Corporate & Commercial banking in Thames Valley & South West, where he led a team of Corporate and Commercial Banking experts responsible for managing existing customer relationships and sourcing new business throughout the division.

Prior to that, he worked at Barclays for 22 years, where he spent the majority of his career in the business banking division. Whilst he was with Barclays, he also ran his own business in the music industry.

“I have spent the overwhelming majority of my career in business banking and I have also managed my own business, so I am delighted to be able to bring my experience as a small business owner to this key role,” he said.
